The use of AI continues to grow as it offers efficient solutions to problems facing people and businesses, as well as quick ways of accessing relevant information. AI-powered Voice User Interfaces (VUI), or Conversational User Interfaces (CUI), in particular, have shifted the way users interact with computers or machines. How can we integrate a Conversational User Interface within the existing product offerings of SpreeAI, an AI powered garment try-on platform.
Meet Qlo, an AI-powered conversational assistant designed to seamlessly integrate into your chosen brand’s experience. Built for shopper’s needs, Qlo is a data-rich assistant that provides personalized and context-aware shopping suggestions, helping to guide users through SpreeAI’s try-on process. Qlo is designed to enhance both online and in-store shopping experiences through its mobile app and smart mirror integration.
SpreeAI is a technology company that offers online try-on services for the fashion retail industry to enhance and personalize the shopping experience. They are a B2B technology provider that integrates within existing
e-commerce brand’s online experience to offer realistic garment try-on. SpreeAI’s technology boasts a remarkable 99% accuracy rate in sizing customization, significantly reducing the uncertainty often associated with online shopping.
SpreeAI’s technology is designed to seamlessly integrate into an existing fashion brand’s online experience.
Therefore, any intervention that we would propose would have to work for an existing brand’s design and brand guidelines. Through our research we identified Uniqlo as the brand best suited for incorporating SpreeAI’s technology and highlighting our proposed intervention. Uniqlo and SpreeAI share strong alignment in primary values of innovation and technology, and their continued commitment to enhancing customer experience.
In our process we hosted several rounds of interviews with the team at SpreeAI, analyzed their existing alpha study results, and conducted a landscape analysis of existing sentiment in online shoppers. Our research helped identify pain points within the current SpreeAI experience, the larger apparel shopping experience, and potential opportunities for augmenting a SpreeAI intervention that facilitates an improved online shopping experience beyond aiding in realistic garment try-on.
A variation in sizing standards between brands and even items within the same brand
Inundation of content in an online experience that fails to match the stylistic needs of customers
Brands lack a personalized curation when making clothing suggestions for online customers
Building on our research, we generated initial concept storyboards and a journey map for both an online and an
in-store shopping experience. Our journey map helped to identify key areas of intervention where a CUI can aid in enhancing user experience.
How might the integration of SpreeAI
technology create a more innovative and engaging
omni-channel shopping experience in Uniqlo?
Our AI-powered conversational assistant is designed to seamlessly integrate into your chosen brand’s experience. Qlo borrows the typography, color palette, and design language from a chosen brand.
Qlo is designed with seven distinct CUI visual states that communicate Qlo’s status and updates in real time.
Qlo's visual states are adaptable and transition dynamically between states.
Qlo is designed to integrate into an existing brand's mobile app experience. The CUI interfaces lives alongside the existing app and can be activated by selecting it's CTA.
Once activated, Qlo asks for contextual information to
better understand user needs. By gathering more in-depth information, Qlo can offer more personalized recommendations that better fit shopper's needs.

Our AI-powered conversational assistant is integrated into an in-store shopping experience via a smart mirror.
The smart mirror CUI offers outfit suggestions, in-store navigation, and an Augmented Reality try-on experience
for shoppers looking to more easily try out items.

Balancing Conversational User Interfaces (CUI) with
AI-driven eCommerce technology, particularly in the context of SpreeAI, presented unique challenges and opportunities for our team. In this project we discovered benefits of CUI as a more adaptive and flexible interface, requiring careful integration to enhance the shopping experience rather than merely automating interactions. As AI continues to evolve, the convergence of CUI, immersive tech, and predictive capabilities offer opportunities for novel exciting modalities of interaction, beyond traditional graphical interfaces.
I want to express gratitude to my team, and our client representatives for their impeccable teamwork and invaluable guidance in this project.
